If you’re reading this, chances are, you’ve wondered how to become a successful real estate agent. Becoming a successful real estate agent takes dedication and hard work. But, there are a few tips you can hear to make your journey to success a little easier.

We sat down with the CA Realty Training owner and head trainer, Robert Rico, to talk about the best advice for new real estate agents. More specifically, what was the advice he was given that helped him become a successful agent.

Produce Wholesome Work

Producing wholesome work will separate you from every other real estate agent in the industry. In the words of Robert Rico, “Don’t half-a** it.” Everything you do in life deserves your full attention and energy. Without this commitment, you will produce subpar work that is associated with inexperienced agents.

Therefore, you should always shoot to be a professional real estate agent. Always go the extra mile and commit to doing good work in everything you do - especially in your career.

Schedule Everything You Do

Scheduling everything you do will keep your life organized. So organized, in fact, you will increase your productivity and time management. By scheduling everything, you will be keeping track of all your appointments, meetings, and commitments on a visual calendar.

This might seem like an obvious tip, but many real estate agents don’t bother keeping an organized schedule.

Moreover, you can increase your productivity to finish tasks by planning your days, weeks, and - even - months in advance. Not only will this help you take on more work, but it decreases the amount of stress you have. There’s no need to keep all of your appointments bottled up in your head. Watch as your productivity increases when you start calendaring your commitments.

Remember Your Clients

Not building relationships in real estate is detrimental to your success. The real estate agent with the biggest network will receive the most work and commission. Therefore, how you create your network is extremely important.

One way you can retain clients and get referrals is by taking time to show them you care about their needs.

When a client sees that you’re willing to work for them in finding their dream home, they’ll be more likely to refer you to their family, friends, and acquaintances based on good customer service.

Taking notes after conversations and setting reminders about what they’re doing helps you prioritize your client. Therefore, when you remember your client, they’ll be happy to work with you.

Write Everything Down

One way to remember your clients, meetings, and what it takes to go above and beyond, is to record everything. You can’t rely on your memory. When you record important information down on a notepad, tablet, or computer, you will be more likely to remember that information.

Along with this, you will be documenting important pieces of information to be referenced later.

This will reduce the number of valuable information lost to extensive to-do lists and poor memory recall. Writing everything down will keep you from forgetting and help you remember the important info from a client conversation or crucial meeting.

Final Thoughts for the New Real Estate Agent

When you take the time to thoroughly perform the responsibilities of your job, becoming a successful real estate agent will no longer be a matter of “if,” but “when.” The reason why is because you are building a professional lifestyle built on the fundamentals of success.
